Bob Wright, MD

Dr. Wright is enthusiastic about obstetrics and helping patients start their families with the best possible care. He believes in delivering the best care possible to women, regardless of age or circumstance.

Dr. Wright encourages optimizing reproductive health before pregnancy and also attending to the needs of mothers after they have had their children. He specializes in incontinence and prolapse surgery, infertility evaluation and management, menopause, and minimally invasive surgery.  Dr. Wright is married and has two children. His family has lived in Western North Carolina for many generations. A former collegiate runner, competitive cyclist and tennis player, Dr. Wright leads a healthy, fit lifestyle and is active in his church and local athletic activities.

Why did you choose to specialize in Ob/Gyn?

Long story, but growing up with two older sisters certainly contributed. I’m grateful, every day, to see biology and creation at work.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Word games and anagrams.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

Too many to single out just one. I wish I had listened to my dad more.

What is your favorite animal?

Our family dog (and faithful lieutenant),  Buddy

What do you like about living in Asheville?

Having 4 seasons, Bent Creek/Pisgah, and living close to my roots

Latin

House-husband.

Anything served at the Wright house. Really! Melissa is an awesome cook, and now she’s taught the kids.
